Inés Medina-Fernández

  • Hello, welcome. I am Inés, a composer of film, and independent music.
    -I work with directors and producers who want a novel approach to their     soundtracks. My role is to find a new dimension to their film, through music. I also like to use sound design as a subtle way to enhance scenes.
    -In addition to music, I have a background in astrophysics, and I am also a keen meditator. As an independent composer, I love to experiment with electronic sounds and I'm fascinated by the effects of sound and silence on our bodies and minds. My independent music has a 'cosmic' feel to it, it is full of moods, feeling and space.

    How many cinematic genres does one have to go through to propose to one's love? Many! Each with its very own flavour. Check it out in this multi-genre light comedy.

    Midsummer Boulevard

    'The last place where you would expect to find pure evil'....Mystery, seduction, humour, and a dash of terror. My soundtrack for this quirky film conveys all these emotions with a jazzy, playful main theme and unsettling, dark ambient music. As the film itself, not easy to define!

    Javier Manterola. The Engineer's Trade

    This is an excellent documentary (in Spanish) about the work of Javier Manterola, produced by the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. My score is called Danza (Dance), a concert piece, dynamic yet also rigorous and precise. This is very much how I see Manterola's bridges. You'll find the music at the very beginning and during the end credits (from 3:17).

    The Fireman, Charlie Chaplin

    I am a great fan of Charlie Chaplin, and I was surprised and delighted to discover how well this contemporary piano piece - something I composed loosely following Arnold Schoenberg's aesthetics - interacts with this fragment of The Fireman. I laugh every time. Hopefully, my music adds an interesting twist to this evergreen comedy.

    Hola, te doy la bienvenida. Soy Inés, compositora de música de cine y música independiente
    -Trabajo con director@s y productor@s que quieren un enfoque distinto para su     banda sonora. Mi papel es el de encontrar una nueva dimensión a la película, a través de la música. También utilizo el diseño de sonido para realzar escenas.
    -Además de música, soy astrofísica y también una meditadora asidua. Como compositora independiente, me encanta experimentar con sonidos electrónicos y me fascina el efecto del sonido y el silencio en nuestro cuerpo y nuestra mente. Mi música independiente tiene un elemento"cósmico", está llena de sensaciones y de espacio.
